Wisconsin drops third straight game to Big Ten foe, looks to rebound next Sunday

BLOOMINGTON, IND. – Wisconsin men's soccer battled to the last possible period of play, but fell to Indiana, 1-0, after a golden goal in double overtime.

The match was originally slated to begin at 12 p.m. CT, but rain showers and wet field conditions moved it three hours later.

The delay did not faze UW, as they had two corner opportunities in the first half and three shots on goal. Two of those chances went to Inaki Iribarren.

The IU attack picked up in the second, but sophomore Carter Abbott made a nice save in the 85th minute to keep the game scoreless.

Early in the second overtime, Wisconsin had two good set piece chances to score, but Indiana ended up pulling off the late golden goal victory.

Next up for UW is Senior Day at McClimon Soccer Complex when they face Penn State on Sunday. Kickoff for the regular-season finale is set for 12 p.m. and admission is free.
