Badgers shoot under par in final round of Steelwood Invite

Cameron Huss shoots career-low 66
LOXLEY, Ala. — Wisconsin finished the Steelwood Collegiate Invite in 10th place with a six-over-par 870. Cameron Huss was the top finisher for the Badgers, coming in tied for fifth with a five-under-par 211. Griffin Barela joins him under par and in the top-20 at T16 with a three-under-par 213.
Huss had the team low for the round, shooting a new 18-hole career-low of 66 (-6). He shot his previous best of 67 (-5) in the Badgers' last tournament, the Rich Harvest Farms Intercollegiate on October 4. His 66 ties the fourth-lowest 18-hole score in program history.
Barela also shot under par in the final round, carding a three-under-par 69.
As of this week, the pair are both ranked in the top-100 individuals in the nation by Golfstat. Barela is currently No. 64 and Huss is No. 71.
Wisconsin finished the first round with a 299 (+11), led by Huss who shot a one-under-par 71.
Teams played 36 straight holes today. The Badgers shaved 11 strokes from the first to second round, finishing up the day with a second round score of 288 (E).
Barela and Coalter Smith each shot a 71 (-1) to lead for the second round. Barela leads the team overall at even-par with a 144 through 36.
