MADISON, Wis. -- Fifth-ranked Wisconsin (21-3, 13-3 B1G) plays three of its last four Big Ten regular-season matches at home, with its final road match coming this weekend. The Badgers look for a season sweep of Michigan State (11-14, 4-12) when the Spartans come to town on Friday. First serve is at 8 p.m. streamed live on B1G+. On Sunday, Wisconsin travels to No. 9 Minnesota (17-7, 12-4) for a 4 p.m. match from Maturi Pavilion in Minneapolis. The match airs live on the Big Ten Network.

1. BIG TEN TITLE ON THE LINE: Wisconsin dropped just its third match of the season, all in Big Ten play, falling to then-No. 9 Purdue, 3-1, last Friday. The Badgers got back on track on Saturday, with a 3-1 win over Northwestern. The 2021 Big Ten Championship comes down to the last two weeks (four matches) of play as six teams have a chance to win the title. Wisconsin and Nebraska are currently tied for first at 13-3 while Purdue, Penn State and Minnesota are tied for third at 12-4. If the Badgers win all four remaining matches, they clinch their third-straight Big Ten title.

2. KELLY'S COUNTDOWN: Head coach Kelly Sheffield is counting down to 500 career wins, needing three victories to hit the milestone. In his ninth year at Wisconsin, Sheffield is 497-165 (.751) in his 21st year as a head coach.

3. RETTKE HOLDS THE RECORD: Fifth-year senior Dana Rettke broke the UW career record for total blocks against the Boilermakers last Friday. The 6-foot-8 middle blocker tallied five stuffs to break the UW mark of 682 blocks set by Heather Dodaro (1994-97). Rettke now has 688 blocks in her career, which ranks fourth on the Big Ten record list.

4. ROBINSON'S STANDOUT SEASON: Sophomore Devyn Robinson led the Badgers over Northwestern with a career-high 19 kills. The 6-foot-2 middle blocker hit .654 (19-2-26) while adding four blocks vs. the Wildcats. Robinson has recorded career-highs in every statistical category this season.

5. HILLEY HONING IN:  Graduate student Sydney Hilley is on track to break the UW career record for assists. Hilley surpassed Lauren Carlini (2013-16), who had 5,599 helpers in her career, last Friday to move into second with 5,683 assists. Hilley needs 151 assists to better the school record of 5,833 assists set by Laura Abbinante (1993-96).

6. SCOUTING THE TEAMS: The Badgers are hoping for a series sweep when they host Michigan State Friday night. The Spartans are 11-14 on the season and 4-12 in conference play. Sophomore outside hitter Sarah Franklin leads the team with 3.93 kills per set, followed by junior outside hitter Cecilee Max-Brown with 2.86 kills per set. Naya Gros, a senior middle blocker, has a team-best 1.34 blocks per set while redshirt junior libero Tali Edmonds leads the Spartans with 2.67 digs per set.

The second Border Battle match of the season takes place in Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. The ninth-ranked Gophers are currently 17-7 on the season and 12-4 in conference play, one of their losses delivered by the Badgers. Redshirt-senior opposite Stephanie Samedy leads the Big Ten with 4.74 kills per set, followed by sophomore outside hitter Jenna Wenaas with 3.22 kills per set. Ellie Jusemann, a junior middle blocker, leads the Gophers with 1.22 blocks per set while senior libero, CC McGraw, has a team-best 4.61 digs per set.
