MADISON, Wis. -- For the ninth straight year, Wisconsin competes in the NCAA Regional semifinals. The Badgers host regional play for the fifth time in program history, hosting the Madison Regional on Thursday and Saturday in the UW Field House.
No. 5 Baylor (22-5) takes on No. 12 Minnesota (21-8) in the first regional semifinal at 2 p.m., on Thursday. The fourth-seeded Badgers (27-3) face No. 13 UCLA (25-5) in the second regional semifinal at 4 p.m.Semifinal winners advance to play in the regional final on Saturday at 7 p.m. All matches air live on ESPNU.
1. FEELING SWEET: UW is one of only three teams to advance to the Sweet 16 the last nine years in a row, joining Nebraska and Texas. The Badgers are 11-7 in NCAA Regional semifinal rounds and 4-7 in regional final rounds. Wisconsin has advanced to the national semifinals four times, including the last two years in a row.Â
2. BADGERS RUN THE NORTHEAST:Â For the third-straight season,
Dana Rettke was named the AVCA Northeast Regional Player of the Year. Rettke earns her fifth-straight first-team all-region selection and was joined the first team by teammates
Lauren Barnes and
Sydney Hilley. Sophomore
Devyn Robinson earned honorable mention accolades. All four athletes will now be up for AVCA All-America honors

3. ON TOP OF OUR GAME: Wisconsin has won its last 12 consecutive sets, its longest set-winning streak of the season. The Badgers have also won the last seven consecutive matches, including their last six home matches.

4. GAME, SET, STREAK:Â The Badgers swept both opponents in the first and second rounds of the NCAA tournament last weekend, extending their set winning streak to a season-best 12 sets. Wisconsin hit an impressive .422 (94-18-180) on the opening weekend, holding opponents to .126 (60-35-198). UW averaged 15.67 kills per set while foes put away just 10.00 kills per set.

5. SHE IS BEAUTY, SHE IS GRACE:Â Graduate student
Grace Loberg has turned up her play the last six matches, averaging 3.23 kills per set over the stretch. The 6-foot-3 outside hitter is hitting .284% while adding 0.73 blocks per set. Loberg has double-figure kills in the five of the last six matches, including a match-high 15 kills vs. FGCU in the second round of the NCAA tournament while hitting .542.
6. HARD TO BEAT BARNES: Libero
Lauren Barnes was dominant in the back row in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament. The 5-foot-8 graduate student recording 18 digs in both matches, averaging 6.0 digs per set on the weekend. She was also aced only once in 17 service receptions. Barnes also became the 19th UW player to record 1,000 career digs. The fifth-year player has 1,517 digs in her career and 1,005 digs as a Badger.
