Senior stands out in community, classroom, character and competition
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin men's basketball senior standout D'Mitrik Trice was recently announced as a candidate for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes student-athletes who excel both on and off the court.

A Third-Team All-Big Ten honoree last season, Trice was a preseason candidate for the 2021 Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award. Trice ranks top five in Wisconsin's career record books for made 3-point field goals, assists, and assist-to-turnover ratio.
The Huber Heights, Ohio native scored his 1,000th career point in UW's Big Ten title-clinching win at Indiana last season, becoming the first player in school history to amass 1,000 points, 300 assists and 300 rebounds by his junior season.
A three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Trice is currently a graduate student studying Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis after earning his undergraduate degree in Communication Arts.
In the community, Trice has been an active member in the "Wisconsin Shoe Project," which provides unforgettable moments to transform the lives of youngsters going through difficult times. Trice has also participated in diversity and inclusion efforts on campus, including the push for racial justice.
Trice is the latest in a lineage of Badgers qualified to win the Senior CLASS AWARD. Most recently in 2017, both Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig were named candidates for the award. Frank Kaminsky and Jon Leuer were among the 10 finalists for the award in 2014-15 and 2010-11, respectively.
Current assistant coach Alando Tucker was awarded the Senior CLASS Award as a player in 2007.
The men's and women's candidates will be narrowed to two fields of ten finalists in late February, and those names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will then select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four C's of community, classroom, character and competition.
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2021 NCAA Men's Final Four and NCAA Women's Final Four this spring.
