Imani Lewis named Big Ten Player of the Week

Badger averages double-double ont he week
MADISON, Wis. – After back-to-back double-doubles, including a career-high 27 points, junior Imani Lewis was named the Big Ten Conference Co-Women's Basketball Player of the Week. She is the first Badger to be named Player of the Week since Jan. 7, 2014, when Taylor Wurtz was honored.
Lewis had a career week, leading the Badgers over No. 12 Ohio State on Feb. 10. The 6-foot-1 forward scored a career-high 27 points, improving upon her previous best of 23 points. She shot 75% (9-12) from the field, including hitting her first 3-pointer of the season and just the third of her career. Lewis also shot 80% (8-10) from the free-throw line. The Willingborough, New Jersey, native added 14 rebounds against the Buckeyes, just two off her career best.

On the week, Lewis averaged 27 points per game, shooting 64.3 % (18-28) from the field. She also shot 77.3% (17-22) from the free-throw line. The forward added 12.5 rebounds per game and chipped in three steals, one assist and one block.
The Badgers have a bye week and don't return to action until Sunday when they play at No. 21 Northwestern. Tip time is 2 p.m. from Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Illinois.

On Sunday at Minnesota, Lewis equaled her career high with 27 points, shooting 56.3% (9-16) from the field and 75% (9-12) from the free-throw line.
