Three Badgers earn silver medals
2021 Big Ten Indoor Women's Results
GENEVA, Ohio -- Behind three second-place finishers, the Wisconsin women's track and field team finished fourth at the Big Ten Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday. The Badgers scored 62 points to improve five places from 2020. Minnesota won the team championship with 138 points while Michigan placed second with 80 points and Iowa took third with 75 points.
The medals started in the 60-meter dash where freshman Kiley Robbins broke her own school record. The Milwaukee native finished second in 7.31 seconds, besting her time of 7.33 set earlier this season. Robbins was just two-hundredths of a season out of first place as Minnesota's Amira Young won in 7.29
Junior Madison Mooney used a last-lap kick to finish second in the 800 meters in a personal best time of 2:05.79. The Broomfield, Colorado, native moved up from fourth place over the last 400 meters, running the fourth fastest time in UW history. Â
Sophomore Destiny Huven missed a championship in the 60-meter hurdles by .007 seconds, finishing second in 8.26. Iowa's Paige Magee also crossed in 8.26 but going to the thousandths, her time came to 8.251 while Huven finished in 8.258.
Sophomore Ali Dorn ran a personal best of 1:29.97 in the 600 meters to finish fourth. Her time moves her into fourth on the UW all-time indoor record list. Teammate Bianca Stubler also placed in the 600 meters, taking fifth in 1:30.79.
Dorn and Stubler teamed with Morgan Parzych and Jordan Hirsbrunner to finish fourth in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:41.24. Their time ranks fourth on the UW indoor record list.
The Badgers also scored one spot in the 5,000 meters sophomore Alexa Westley finished fifth in a personal best time of 16:26.72. Sophomore Sarah Shulze just missed scoring, finishing ninth in 16:40.73.
UW also just missed scoring in the shot put and pole vault. Redshirt freshman Chloe Lindeman placed ninth in the shot put at 51 feet, 6 1/2 inches while sophomore Hailey Orlowski took 10th in the pole vault with a personal best clearance of 13-1 1/2. Her vault moves her up to sixth on the UW indoor performance list.
