
Bowlby and Eden earn WCHA monthly honors

Duo led UW to two wins against ranked teams in February
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey senior Grace Bowlby and freshman Lacey Eden earned WCHA monthly honors, the league announced on Tuesday. Bowlby was named the WCHA Defenseman of the Month while Eden was honored as the WCHA Rookie of the Month.
A co-captain for the Badgers, Bowlby posted six assists in the month, which was tied teammate Darly Watts for the league lead among all skaters. In addition, Bowlby's six points were the most by a league defenseman in February while her +7 plus/minus mark was tied for the best mark by a WCHA blueliner. The Edina, Minnesota, native had assists in five of UW's six games, including assists on two game-winning goals.
In her first full month for the Badgers, Eden was tied for the league lead among rookie skaters with seven points in six games. The Annapolis, Maryland, native posted three goals and four assists during February and posted a +6 plus/minus rating that lead all WCHA freshmen skaters. She had 23 shots on goal, which also lead all league freshmen.
Bowlby, Eden and the No. 1/2 Badgers open post-season play on Saturday against No. 4 Minnesota in the semifinals of the 2021 WCHA Final Faceoff. Puck drops at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis at 1 p.m. No. 5 Minnesota Duluth takes on No. 3 Ohio State in the other semifinal at 5 p.m. Semifinal winners advance to the championship game on Sunday at 2 p.m. The winner will win the WCHA Championship Trophy and an automatic NCAA tournament berth.
