Wisconsin wraps Florida trip on Sunday against Wolverines
LEESBURG, Florida – In its first games against a ranked foe this season, the Wisconsin softball team fell in 8-0 and 3-0 finals against No. 23 Michigan on Saturday at the Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex.
Game 1
The Badgers suffered an 8-0, five-inning setback in the first game against the Wolverines.
Two days after setting a school record with a 13 and 2/3 inning effort, Maddie Schwartz took to the rubber again for Wisconsin on Saturday and pitched the first three innings before giving way to Tessa Magnanimo and Gabi Salo.
Fiona Girardot and Ally Miklesh each had hits against Michigan's Alex Storako in the loss, while Miklseh made an incredible catch during the contest.
Game 2
In UW's 3-0 loss to Michigan in the second game of the double header, Schwartz earned the start and went the distance, pitching seven innings while allowing only two earned runs while striking out four.
Lauren Foster, Peyton Bannon and Gabby Altobelli all collected hits during the second game.
