Duo led Badgers to WCHA regular-season and tournament titles
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey seniors Grace Bowlby and Daryl Watts were named first-team All-Americans by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Friday morning.
It marks the second time that Watts has been named a first-team All-American as the Toronto native was a first-team All-American her freshman year at Boston College. Watts also earned second-team honors in 2019-20 during her first season with the Cardinal and White. Bowlby is collecting her first All-America honor of her career and is eighth Badger blueliner to earn All-America accolades.
A co-captain for Wisconsin this year, Bowlby is in the midst of her best season as a Badger with a career-best 18 points. Her 18 assists are the fourth most in the NCAA and her 18 points are the third most by a NCAA blueliner this year. The Edina, Minnesota, native has a +24 plus/minus rating that also ranks second among all NCAA rear guards.
A top-three finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, Watts leads the country with 18 goals this year while her 1.75 points per game clip is the best mark by a NCAA player. The senior forward was named the 2020-21 WCHA Player of the Year and the WCHA Scoring Champion, and has points in 18 of UW's 20 games this year.
