Goalkeeper posted clean sheet in first career start
MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Ohio State last Friday at McClimon Soccer Complex and sophomore goalkeeper Carter Abbott was recognized for his part in the victory.
The Wauwatosa native, making his first career collegiate start, turned aside all five Ohio State (3-2-1) shots on goal to earn the shutout and his first victory. That helped him become Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
UW (1-5-1) got a goal from sophomore forward Michael Wampler in the 87th minute, his first career marker, to clinch the win.
The Badgers, 1-0-1 in their last two games, return to the pitch on Saturday when they visit Penn State for a game at 1 p.m. CT.
