CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The Wisconsin men's tennis team (4-9, 4-8 Big Ten) claimed the doubles point but ultimately fell short in a 6-1 loss to No. 12 Illinois on Friday at the Atkins Tennis Center.
The freshman duo of Tim Dzhurinksiy and
Mihailo Popovic dominated their match at No. 3 doubles with a 6-2 win Noe Khlif and Hunter Heck. At No. 2, seniors
Jesper Freimuth and
Lenard Soha clinched the doubles point by winning their fifth straight match, a 6-4 victory over Illinois' Alex Bancila and Aleksander Kovacevic.
