MADISON, Wis. – The six-time NCAA champion Wisconsin women's hockey team, in conjunction with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, has announced its upcoming schedule for the 2021-22 season.
Two new opponents await the Badgers on this year's schedule as UW will play Merrimack College for the first time in school history on Oct. 1-2, before playing two series against the University of St. Thomas, the newest member of the WCHA. The Badgers will play the Tommies on Nov. 19-20 in Minnesota, before hosting them Jan. 14-15.
The Badgers open their quest for a third-straight national title on Sept. 24-25 with a road series at Lindenwood, then head to North Andover, Massachusetts, to face Merrimack.
UW will play its first of eight-home series at LaBahn Arena the weekend of Oct. 8 when it welcomes St. Cloud State to Madison.
The Badgers will welcome three teams to LaBahn Arena that were ranked in the top 10 last year, including NCAA Frozen Four participants Ohio State (Oct. 22-24) and Minnesota Duluth (Feb. 4-6), along with Border Battle-rival Minnesota (Dec. 3-5). UW will also play host to Quinnipiac in a non-conference series on Jan. 1-2.
