Three Badgers qualify for finals

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The Wisconsin men's track and field team wrapped up the second day of the Big Ten Conference Outdoor Championships on Saturday by qualifying three athletes to Sunday's finals.
Sophomore L.O. Johnson advanced in the 100 meters, running 10.46 to finish second in his heat for the seventh-fastest time of the day.
Sophomore Colin Enz ran a personal best time in the 400 meters, finishing fourth in his heat and seventh overall in 47.32.
Amborn recorded four personal bests on the day, finishing ninth in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.91), ninth in the pole vault (14-9), 12th in the discus (118-9) and 14th in the 1500 meters (5:11.09). Herkert had two personal bests, placing 12th in the hurdles (15.67) and ninth in the 1500 meters (4:52.69).
In the only other final for UW, junior Peyton Frankenreider placed 14th in the long jump at 22-1 1/2.

Freshman Abdullahi Hassan leads the list of Badger qualifiers, running the second-fastest time in the 800 meters. Hassan won his heat in 1 minutes, 48.53 seconds to automatically qualify for tomorrow's final.Sophomore L.O.
