MADISON, Wis. – The Big Ten Conference office has announced the volleyball schedule for the 2021 fall season.
After a 22-match conference-only schedule that featured back-to-back matches against the same opponent during the 2020-21 season, all 14 Big Ten schools return to a 20-match schedule this fall featuring two different teams each week.
Badger fans will have a chance to watch five of the nation's top-ranked teams from 2020-21 when they return to the UW Field House this fall. No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Purdue, No. 9 Minnesota, No. 10 Ohio State and No. 12 Penn State all make trips to Madison. All five Big Ten teams advanced to at least the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament in 2020-21. Wisconsin will also host Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan State and Northwestern in the Field House.
Wisconsin (18-1 in 2020-21) opens the 2021 Big Ten schedule with a road trip to Maryland (4-16) and Rutgers (6-14) on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

The Badgers open their home season with the 31
st-annual Steve Lowe Night on Oct. 1 when No. 9 Minnesota (16-3) comes to town. Following home matches vs. Iowa (4-16) and Illinois (7-11) on Oct. 6 and Oct. 9, fans should mark Oct. 22 and Oct. 23 on their calendars as No. 10 Ohio State (16-4) and No. 12 Penn State (10-6) come to the Field House.
After a four-match road swing at the end of October and early November, including back-to-back matches at No. 6 Nebraska (16-3) and No. 7 Purdue (16-7), Wisconsin returns to the UW Field House for three-straight home matches on Nov. 12 (Purdue), Nov. 14 (Northwestern) and Nov. 19 (Michigan State).
UW's home season wraps up on Nov. 26 and Nov. 27 when Nebraska and Indiana, respectively, come to the Field House.
The 2021 NCAA Championship begins the weekend of Dec. 2-4 with first and second round matches while regionals will be held on Dec. 10-11 on the campus of participating teams. The NCAA national semifinals and championship happened on Dec. 16 and Dec. 18, respectively, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
