Lavelle and U.S. open 2020 Summer Olympics with setback to Sweden

Former UW standout plays 80 minutes for USWNT
TOKYO -- Former Wisconsin women's soccer standout Rose Lavelle made her Olympic debut on Wednesday in the United States' 3-0 setback to Sweden at Tokyo Stadium.Â
The two-time Big Ten Midfielder of the Year was a bright spot for the U.S. as Lavelle created a couple of quality chances for the U.S.
The loss snapped a 44-game unbeaten streak for the United States.Â
The U.S. returns to action on Saturday in what will be a critical game against New Zealand. Kickoff is set for 6:30 a.m. CTÂ on NBC Sports Network, Telemundo, NBCOlympics.com and Telemundo Deportes App.
