Badgers heartbreak on late goals by Phoenix

Goals in the 88th and 89th minutes erase UW lead

MADISON, Wis. – UW men's soccer dropped its matchup against Green Bay, 2-1, on Sunday night at McClimon Soccer Complex.

The Badgers got off to a hot start early in the second-half courtesy of a 47th minute goal by Iñaki Irribarren, who finished Aron Eli Saevarrson's header on Zach Klancnik's long throw in.

Freshman keeper, Adir Raphael started the second-half for the Badgers and made his first career save in the 80th minute off a Green Bay free kick

However, in the 88th minute the Phoenix capitalized off another free kick chance near the goal box. A minute later, Green Bay took the lead and held onto the lead for the victory.

Sophomore goalkeeper, Carter Abbott got the start for UW and made two saves for the Badgers.
