Badgers extend win streak to 15 matches

Wisconsin sweeps Rutgers, 3-0
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – A dominant hitting performance led the third-ranked Wisconsin volleyball team to a 25-13, 26-24, 25-10 sweep over Rutgers on Friday night.
Wisconsin (22-3, 16-1 B1G) hit .323 (40-10-93) while holding Rutgers (8-21, 2-15 B1G) to .065 (25-19-93).
The Badgers' domination continued on offense as julia Orzoł and junior Devyn Robinson combined for 23 of UW's 40 kills in the match. Orzoł led all hitters with 13 kills followed by Robinson putting away 10 kills. The Scarlet Knights were led by Taylor Humphrey and Alissa Kinkela with seven kills apiece.
Wisconsin outscored the Scarlet Knights 7-5 from the service line behind two aces from Izzy Ashburn. Jade Demps, Orzoł, Gulce Guctekin, Sarah Franklin and Joslyn Boyer all contributed one service ace apiece.
Ashburn led Wisconsin in assists, recording 24 helpers while maintaining a perfect hitting percentage with one kill, one attempt and no hitting errors.
The Badgers out-blocked Rutgers 9.0-6.0 with Anna Smrek and Orzoł leading the Badgers with five stuffs each followed by Danielle Hart with four blocks.
UW also finished with a plus-12 advantage in digs (45-33) with Guctekin leading all players with 11 digs followed by Ashburn with 10.

- Senior Izzy Ashburn picked up the fourth double-double of the season with 24 assists and 10 digs.
- Wisconsin won its 15th straight match which ties for the fourth longest match winning streak in program history.
- For the third-straight match, grad student Danielle Hart was error free in her hitting. The 6-foot-4 was 5-0-7 in her attack for .714 percent.
- The Badgers held Rutgers to a .065 (25-19-93) team hitting percentage, the seventh opponent this season to hit below .100.
