MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin men's hockey team is back home at the Kohl Center on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11, for a non-conference series against Long Island University.

Here's six quick things to know before tuning in:

Rosters: Badgers || LIU

1 - HOMESTAND: The Badgers kick off a six-game homestand starting with LIU this week. Wisconsin hosts Lindenwood on Nov. 18-19 followed by Big Ten-rival Michigan on Dec. 2 (Suter Night) and 3.

2 - BROCK 'N ROLL: Graduate forward Brock Caufield netted his third goal of the season in the Badger's recent series against Michigan State.


3 - FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: Wisconsin's contests against third-year program LIU this weekend mark the first meetings between the schools. The last time the Badgers met a team for the first time happened Oct. 30-31, 2015, against Arizona State. UW skated to 5-1 and 2-1 victories over the Sun Devils at the Kohl Center that weekend.
 
The Badgers will play first-year program Lindenwood next week to make it back-to-back weekends of first meetings.

4 - MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT: In honor of Veteran's Day, all veterans and active military will be recognized during the game on Friday.


5 - GOODMAN COMMUNITY CENTER SATURDAY FOOD DRIVE: Wisconsin Athletics is proud to support the Goodman Community Center to provide Dane County families with meals for Thanksgiving. 

All fans will are encouraged to participate by bringing non-perishable food items to Saturday's game. Fans can also help by making a monetary donation.  



6 - SCOUTING THE SHARKS: The Sharks of LIU are in their third season as a division one hockey program. They are 1-6-1 so far this season and are coming off a pair of losses to Omaha.

Anthony Vincent leads the roster with three goals and six points in eight games. Starting goaltender Vinnie Purpura sits with a 3.34 goals-against average and a .900 save percentage with one win on the season.
