BEIJING -- Former Wisconsin women's hockey netminder Ann-Renee Desbiens made 51 saves to lead Team Canada to a 4-2 win over the U.S. in the final game of group play at the 2022 Winter Olympics on Monday.Â
Desbiens, the NCAA record holder for career shutouts, goals-against average and save percentage, was dominant in the crease to lead Canada to a perfect record in group play.Â
Former Badger Sarah Nurse also added an assist for Team Canada.
Canada will finish with the top spot in Group A with a 4-0-0 record in preliminary play, while the U.S. finished group action with a 3-1-0 ledger.Â
The quarterfinals at the 2022 Winter Olympics will get underway on Feb. 11.Â
