Badger volleyball holds 13 camps

MADISON, Wis. – The 2021 NCAA and Big Ten Conference champion Wisconsin volleyball team has announced its 2022 summer camp schedule. The Badgers will hold 13 camps during June and July for campers from age four to those entering 12th grade this fall. Camp registration is open at UWCamps.com/Volleyball.
After capturing the program's first NCAA national championship, the Badgers will hold a full slate of programming this summer. Badger Camps will introduce the youngest of campers to the game of volleyball, as well as having options for experienced players that seek to focus on advanced, specific skill instruction. Under the direction of Wisconsin Head Coach Kelly Sheffield, each camp will focus on making better volleyball players in fun and competitive environments.

The Bucky All-Skills camp for girls entering the fifth through eighth grades will be held June 7-9 in three early evening sessions. The All-Skills camp will focus on all fundamental volleyball skills including hitting, setting, defense, serving and passing while also incorporating the beginning of game play and competition.

Camps for Youth, Junior, and Little Badgers
The Badger camp program begins in June with the first three sets of camps: Little Badgers, Junior Badgers, and the Bucky All-Skills Camp. These programs provide options for individuals from age four through middle school. The Little Badger and Junior Badger program focuses on four separate two-day, half-day camps for girls and boys ages 4-8 and 8-11, respectively. The Little Badger program (ages 4-8) will occur on June 2-3 and June 4-5 while the Junior Badger program (ages 8-11) will have two separate camps operating on June 4-5. These Little Badger and Junior Badger youth camps will introduce campers to the sport of volleyball while teaching new skills in a fun action-packed environment.Â

Train to become champions at Badger Camp
Girls entering the eighth through 12th grades may attend either the Badger I or Badger II Camp to get the "Badger" experience. Training throughout the camp will be similar to how the Badgers train, with individual skill development and competition. These overnight two-day advanced-level camps will work on accelerated training plans that incorporate higher-level concepts to allow campers to expand their knowledge and skill level. The Badger I Camp will be held on July 5-6 while the Badger II Camp will be held on July 8-9.Position Camps and Serving Camps available on Separate Days
The Badgers will offer specialty one-day camps for setters, hitters, and liberos on two separate days. Athletes may participate in specific position camps on July 11 and/or July 12. Setters will be taught basic and advanced setting skills. Attackers will learn both beginner and advanced hitting techniques in addition to being introduced to position-specific training for outside, middle, or right-side attacking. Liberos will hone their passing and defensive techniques during their positional camp.It Starts at the Service Line
The Badgers will offer two separate serving camps during the summer of 2022. During these one-session camps, training will include the breakdown of the techniques of elite-level serving, including individual skills and strategies. The two serving camps will occur directly after the individual position camps on July 11 and July 12.Team Camps Opportunities Available
Girls' junior varsity and varsity high school teams looking to take their team to the next level can participate in one of two Overnight Team Camps from July 14-15 or July 16-17. The Overnight Team Camp will address each team's specific needs and work to improve its competition level over the course of the two-day camp.
