MUKWONAGO, Wis. — The Wisconsin volleyball team improved to 3-0 this spring season with a 3-1 win over Marquette on Sunday afternoon. Badgers met their in-state rival for a neutral site spring match at Mukwonago High School with UW flying past the Eagles 25-22, 25-16, 18-25, 25-23. 

All 11 players saw the court and made appearances in every set as the Badgers ran a 6-2 offense for the first time this spring season.

As a team, the Badgers hit .283 (60 kills - 19 errors - 145 attempts), their lowest of the three spring season matches thus far, while holding Marquette to .238 (52-18-143). 

Four Badgers scored double-figure kills as Devyn Robinson recorded a match-high 15 kills while hitting .478 (15-4-23). Anna Smrek added 12 kills and hit .440 (12-1-25). Liz Gregorski and Lauren Jardine added 11 and 10 kills, respectively.

MJ Hammill put up 25 assists and Izzy Ashburn added 19 assists as the Badgers used two setters all match. 

Hammill and Ashburn both added two service aces in the match as Wisconsin outscored the Golden Eagles, 9-4, at the service line. Joslyn Boyer and Caroline Crawford also scored on two aces.

Defensively, the Badgers were neck-and-neck with the Eagles in blocks, 9-9. Robinson and Smrek recorded a team-high four blocks while Crawford stopped three shots. 

Wisconsin edged Marquette, 57-56, in digs with three Badgers in double digits. Boyer tallied a team-high 14 digs as libero for the first two sets while Anna MacDonald took over libero for the last two sets, recording 11 saves. Ashburn recorded a double-double, adding 10 digs to her assist total.
