Men's Head Coach Chris Clark
On the morning racesÂ
"In the morning we raced Oregon State, I thought it went well. All three boats went one, two and three. That is our second 2K, last week we raced Marietta. It was at least as good, if not a little better than that. Nothing remarkable about it except that we executed what we needed to and we took the lead and we were able to do it without expending too much energy, but always appreciate the race with Oregon State."
On the varsity eight against Cal
"In the varsity eight unfortunately wind came up, cross wind… sure enough we were with them for the first 500 which is good, it shows boat speed. But they just drilled us in the next 900 meters past the bridge which is about 1100.
"But they're just good, really good. It's always good to race the top… while you're not there. Every other team iss going to be someone less than that. It makes it seem a little more doable. That is just the nature of college rowing now, it's incredible as far as the quality and speed."
On the two and three boats
"The two and three I thought did quite well against Cal. The three had six freshmen in there and of the six, two have rowed in high school and four novices."
