Jimenez named Big Ten Freshman of the Week

First-year guard recognized by the league on Monday
MADISON, Wis. – Following a non-conference road win for the Wisconsin women's basketball team, D'Yanis Jimenez was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week by the league office on Monday.
The first-year guard from Cape Coral, Florida scored a career-high 20 points for the Badgers (6-4 overall, 0-1 Big Ten) on the road against St. Thomas. Averaging 10.7 points per game this season, she has notched double-figure scoring in 3 of the last 5 games.
Jimenez leads the Badgers shooting 75.8 percent from the free throw line (12th in the Big Ten). She has shot a perfect 100 percent at the line in four games this season.
Jimenez becomes the first Badger to earn conference honors this season.
