LaBarbera, Pospisilova Named CSC Academic All-District

Duo recognized for performance on and off the court
MADISON, Wis. - Recognized for their performance on the court and in the classroom, graduate student Avery LaBarbera and senior Julie Pospisilova were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
The 2022‐23 Academic All‐District Women's Basketball Team, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
Pospisilova holds a 3.5 GPA as a finance, investment and banking major. LaBarbera is earning her masters in sports leadership and owns a 4.0 GPA.
Pospisilova, who has started in 27-of-28 games this season, leads the Badgers in scoring (13.4) and assists (4.2) per game, and ranks fourth in rebounding (5.0). LaBarbera has started in all 27 games she has played in, and is posting 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First‐, second and third‐team Academic All‐ America honorees will be announced in mid‐March.
