Williams earns final rookie of the week honor this season
ROSEMONT, Ill. - Freshman Serah Williams of the Wisconsin women's basketball team continued her stellar season as she was named the Big Ten Rookie of the Week on Monday.
The honor marks the third time this season Williams has been regarded as the league's top rookie performer for the week.
Williams averaged 9.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks for the week, playing a key role on both ends of the court as the Badgers earned a road win at Northwestern before defeating No. 12 Michigan at home.
The rookie's best performance of the week came against the Wolverines, where she went for 14 points, five rebounds, and two blocks. Williams averaged 13.0 points and 5.4 rebounds throughout the 30-game regular season.
The Badgers finished as the No. 10 seed and will open up its Big Ten Tournament run against No. 7 seed Purude on Thursday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m.
