Schwarz led UW in final tournament as a Badger
BATH, Mich. — Wisconsin men's golf has completed the 2022-23 season with a 12th place finish at the NCAA Regional tournament at Eagle Eye Golf Club. Â
Graduate student Max Schwarz earned top honors for Wisconsin, finishing at two-over par to tie for 33rd place. Schwarz completed his final tournament as a Badger with two eagles and nine birdies.Â
No. 34 Georgia led the field at 29-under, eight strokes ahead of the second place team, third-ranked Illinois. Georgia and Illinois will be joined by Oregon, Florida and Texas at the NCAA Finals in Scottsdale, Arizona. Kansas State's Luke O'Neill also punched a ticket to the finals as the top individual finisher.Â
Clayton Tribus improved his score by two strokes to make par in the final 18 holes. Tribus made three birdies to end the tournament with a total of 10.Â
Schwarz shot a three-over 74 while Coalter Smith followed closely behind with a four-over 75. Maxime Legros and Cameron Huss each shot a seven-over par to round out the lineup for the Badgers.Â
Huss and Schwarz once again paved the way for the Cardinal and White, each making par. Schwarz grabbed his second eagle of the tournament, the most of any player thus far in the tournament.Â
Tribus shot a two-over 73 while tallying a team-leading five birdies. Legros carded a five-over par, while Smith rounded out the lineup with a seven-over par.Â
Huss and Schwarz led the way for the Badgers at one-under par. Huss enjoyed a team-leading six birdies, five of which were made on the back nine. Schwarz made the lone eagle for UW in addition to four birdies.Â
Legros made par for his first 18 holes, while Tribus and Smith each shot a two-over 73.Â

Round Three
The Badgers shot a 298 (+14) in the third and final round, placing them in 12th.Clayton Tribus improved his score by two strokes to make par in the final 18 holes. Tribus made three birdies to end the tournament with a total of 10.Â
Schwarz shot a three-over 74 while Coalter Smith followed closely behind with a four-over 75. Maxime Legros and Cameron Huss each shot a seven-over par to round out the lineup for the Badgers.Â
Tuesday, May 16
Round Two
