
Bannon and Keller Named to Academic All-District Softball Team

Two Badgers honored by College Sports Communicators
MADISON, Wis. – After a strong showing both on the field and in the classroom, Peyton Bannon and Katie Keller of the Wisconsin softball team were named to the 2023 Academic All-District Team, announced by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday.
Bannon, studying Human Development and Family studies a certificate in sports communication and disability rights and services certificate, has upheld a grade point average of 3.667. This marks the first time the junior outfielder has earned the honor.
On the field, Bannon led the team with four triples and 10 stolen bases. She was also third on the team with nine doubles, tallied 29 hits on the season, and 19 RBI.
2023 First Team All-Big Ten, Katie Keller was also named to the All-District Team. Keller is a three-time CSC (formerly CoSIDA) All-Academic recipient, earning the award as an undergraduate at Northern Illinois University. She has upheld a perfect 4.0 GPA while earning her Masters in Sports Leadership at Wisconsin.
Keller led the team with a .379 overall batting average (5th in B1G), accumulated 53 hits, 15 doubles (1st), a triple and six home runs while knocking in 24 RBI. She also ranked seventh in the Big Ten with an on base percentage of .459 and OPS of 1.088. With her 15 doubles on the season, Keller totaled 87 doubles in her career, placing her in sole possession of second place on the NCAA All-Time Career Doubles list.
