Badgers to visit Rome, Florence and Venice

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin women's basketball team will visit Italy from August 6-15, with the itinerary set for competition and sightseeing in Rome, Florence and Venice.

"We are incredibly excited to give our players this potentially once in a lifetime opportunity to travel abroad to Rome, Florence, and Venice," stated head coach Marisa Moseley. This trip will enable us to expose our players to the country's rich culture of art, history, and food; while simultaneously competing in three games. I am confident this experience will allow our team to bond on and off the court for the upcoming season. I cannot wait for this tour and all it will offer."

The Badgers will depart for Rome Aug. 6 and start competition on Aug. 8. The team will next visit Florence before their second game Aug. 11. The trip will close out with three days in Venice, with the final game taking place Aug. 13, and the Badgers will head back to the states Aug. 15.

This will be Wisconsin's first foreign tour since visiting British Columbia in 2016. Additionally, it will mark its first time venturing outside of North America since 2007, when the team toured Australia and New Zealand. Furthermore, it will be Wisconsin's fifth foreign expedition in program history.
