MADISON, Wis. -- Wisconsin's early 2-0-0 record saw stellar performances from both sides of the ball, with one Badger midfielder and one goalkeeper each receiving honors for their games against Purdue Fort Wayne and Drake.

Senior midfielder Maxwell Keenan earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors for leading the Badgers' attack, while junior keeper Nate Crockford was honored in Top Drawer Soccer's National Team of the Week for his defensive play.

Keenan had a hand in all three goals the Badgers scored in their first two games. He picked up the assist on their lone goal against Purdue Fort Wayne, before both scoring the winner and getting another assist in Wisconsin's 2-0 victory against Drake.

Keenan was the Badger's leading scorer last season with seven goals. His two assists in two games already matches his total from last year.

Crockford totaled seven saves for the week, picking up clean sheets in each game. The Badgers capitalized on those shut outs with victories of 1-0, and 2-0 respectfully.

Crockford is the only Big Ten goalkeeper so far to have allowed no goals in his team's first two matches. He currently leads the conference in goals against average, and is second in total saves.

Both players were on the conference's 2023 players to watch list.

Keenan and Crockford will next play on Friday, Sept. 1 at home against second-ranked Kentucky. The game takes place at McClimon Soccer Complex, with kickoff at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
