Wisconsin to meet Forward Madison FC at Breese Stevens Field
MADISON, Wis. - Madison's most thrilling rivalry between Wisconsin men's soccer and Forward Madison FC and is set to take place this April. Forward Madison FC will host the annual "Battle for Madison" match at historic Breese Stevens Field on April 20 at 5 p.m. CT.
The Badgers return to Breese Stevens for a third consecutive spring and for the sixth meeting between the two teams since first meeting in August 2021 at McClimon Soccer Complex on UW's campus. Forward Madison captured last year's matchup, 3-2, with the teams playing to 1-1 draws the prior two meetings.

The 'Mingos have a few special connections with the Badgers. Assistant Coach, Jim Launder led UW as head coach from 1982-96. Under Launder's leadership the Badgers won the NCAA championship in 1995. Director of Soccer Operations, Keith Tiemeyer, was a former assistant coach for the program from 2009-22. Forward Futures Director Aaron Hohlbein both played and coached for the Badgers.
