EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Wisconsin men's tennis team had seven players competing in the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in East Lansing, Mich. this weekend.

Five Badgers - Collin Beduhn, Patrik Meszaros, Edouard Aubert, Oliver Olsson, and Sachiv Kumar - started off play on Thursday in the qualifying singles. All players advanced from their round of 64 matches, with Beduhn, Meszaros, Olsson securing points in the main draw following victories in the round of 32. 

In the main draw singles, Michael Minasyan put up strong numbers in the first round against his Notre Dame challenger to advance, 6-2, 6-4. Going up against Zachary Viiala from No. 32 nationally-ranked Illinois, Minasyan came out on top with a 6-2, 6-1 victory. He ultimately fell to Micghan's Gavin Young in the round of 16, 6-4, 6-2. 

Doubles play featured new pairings from the Wisconsin team, consisting of Fullerton and Beduhn, Minasyan and Olsson, and Aubert and Kumar. Collin Beduhn/Matthew Fullerton were the only pair to earn a round of 64 win before falling to their Ohio State opponents, 8-3.
