Zachemski, Quintos pick up Big Ten weekly honors

MADISON, Wis. – Matthew Zachemski and Ryan Quintos of the Wisconsin Badgers men's soccer team earned Big Ten weekly awards, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Zachemski collected his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week Award and Quintos earned Wisconsin's first Defensive Player of the Week award since Nate Crockford did in October of 2023.

Quintos scored his third goal of the season and his career this past weekend in the Badgers' 2-0 victory over Penn State. He was also part of the Badgers' defensive corps that helped Wisconsin to its sixth clean sheet of the year.

Zachemski recorded a career-high two assists in the Badgers' 2-0 win. The freshman holds three goals on the year for a total of eight points, tied for third on the team with Thomas Raimbault.

Quintos, Zachemski and the Badgers will play a crucial final regular season game at the McClimon Soccer Complex on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Michigan Wolverines. Admission is free.

A Badgers' victory will qualify them for the upcoming Big Ten Tournament that opens Nov. 7 at Seat Geek Stadium in Chicago.
