Badgers head to Oklahoma for season opener

OKLAHOMA CITY-- The Wisconsin lightweight rowing team got the fall season started by splitting up to compete at two competitions over the weekend. One group was sent to Oklahoma to compete at Head of the Oklahoma on Oct. 5-6. While the other half competed in the Milwaukee River Challenge in Milwaukee on Oct 5. Lightweights alongside the Openweights were sent to represent Wisconsin at Head of the Oklahoma. Teams across the U.S. came to compete including Kansas State and Colorado.

In the Open 4+, UW took second place, finishing with ten seconds of the first place team which was Wisconsin's Open-weight team.

Lightweights finished third in the Open 2x night race finishing behind two Wisconsin Open-weights team.

UP NEXT: Badgers will head down to Rockford Ill. to compete in the Head of the Rock on Oct. 13.
