AUSTIN, Texas. – The No. 10 Wisconsin women's swimming team picked up an NCAA "A" cut in the 400 medley relay along with 13 NCAA "B" cuts in the other events of the first day of the Texas Invite.
In a time of 3:30.19, the 400 medley relay team of Maggie Wanezek, Hazal Ozkan, Phoebe Bacon and Hailey Tierney clinched an NCAA "A" cut. This time ranks second all-time at UW.
Hailey Tierney and Abby Wanezek both clinched "B" cut times, finishing with times of 22.15 and 22.51, respectively. Tierney's time ranks seventh all-time.
Phoebe Bacon had already clinched in the 200 IM, but now joining her is Callahan Dunn, Katie McClintock, Hazal Ozkan and Maggie Wanezek. Bacon's time of 1:55.37 ranks third in the all-time UW list.
In the 500 freestyle, Abby Carlson, Blair Stoneburg, Maddie Waggoner, Elle Braun, Paige McKenna and Izzy Enz all tabbed NCAA "B" cuts. Carlson's time ranks fourth all-time in the UW list.
The 200 free relay team of Hailey Tierney, Abby Wanezek, Phoebe Bacon and Abby Carlson finished with a time of 1:28.67, just two tenths off of the "A" cut, and ranks tenth in the all-time UW list

The Badgers will continue competition tomorrow at both the Texas and Georgia Invite. Preliminaries begin at 10 am in Texas, with finals at 6 pm. In Georgia, prelims begin at 10:30 am and finals kick off at 4:45 pm.
