Badgers bested by Rider in first home dual of the season

Rivera, Fugitt, Rosenfeld take home victories in their bouts

MADISON, Wis. – In their first home dual of the year, the Badgers fell to Rider, 28-12, with three UW wrestlers earning wins in their respective bouts.

The Badgers got out to a strong start with a pin from Zan Fugitt and a gritty victory by Nicolar Rivera.

No. 24 Rivera bested his opponent, Will Betancourt at 125 pounds with a 7-6 decision after a close bout.

Zan Fugitt took down Rider's Michael Campanaro with a pin at 133 pounds for the Badgers' second victory of the day.

Gannon Rosenfeld of Wisconsin took care of Collin French at 285 pounds in a 7-0 decision for the final victory for Wisconsin.

Looking ahead
Wisconsin travels to Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, for a dual at Bucknell University on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m.
