Record-breaking season garners freshman Boltz another honor

MADISON, Wis. – Dean Boltz of the Wisconsin men's soccer team earned United Soccer Coaches Second Team All-Region honors in the Men's All-North Region, the United Soccer Coaches announced.

Boltz' recognition to the All-Region team is yet another honor for the freshman after a standout first-collegiate season with the Badgers. Last month, he was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and recently attend the 2024 MLS College Showcase. The Palatine, Illinois, native was the first true freshman in program history to record 10 goals and 24 points in a season. That led the 2024 team in both categories and placed him high in the conference overall. Boltz ended the season third in points in the Big Ten and tied for second in goals scored.

Boltz is the first Badger to score 10 goals in a season since Tom Barlow and Mike Catalano scored 10 each in 2017. His 24 points are the most in a season by a Badger since 2017 when Barlow had 25 and Chris Mueller led the squad with 38.
