
McNaughton named HCA Goaltender of the Month

Sophomore earned six wins in November
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey sophomore Ava McNaughton added another award to her collection this season as the netminder was named the Hockey Commissioners' Association National Goaltender of the Month for November, the group announced on Thursday.
Thursday's award comes on the heels of McNaughton being named the WCHA Goaltender of the Month for the second-straight month.Â
During November McNaughton sported a 6-1 record with three of her wins coming on the road against ranked teams. The Seven Fields, Pennsylvania, native posted two shutouts in her seven starts.
McNaughton sported a .956 save percentage in November and a 1.20 goals-against average.Â
On the season, the UW goaltender ranks second in the NCAA in goals-against average (1.08) and save percentage (.952) while her 16 wins and five shutouts lead the country.
McNaughton and the No. 1 Badgers wrap up the first half of their season with a trip to Minnesota State this weekend. Puck drop on Friday is set for 3 p.m. while Saturday's series finale begins at 2 p.m.Â
