CHICAGO – Four Badgers earned event titles for the Wisconsin men's track and field team on Friday at the Chicago State Invite.

Select sprints, hurdles, and distance student-athletes competed against teams from Illinois, Tennessee and Michigan.

It was a great debut for freshman Patrick Hilby as he won the 600-meter run in one minute, 23.27 seconds. Hilby also secured second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.52 seconds.

In the sprints, senior Elliott Harris was a standout, claiming victory in the 300 meters with a personal best of 34.15 seconds. The Franklin, Wisconsin native also placed second in the 60-meter finals with another personal best of 6.89 seconds. Fellow Badger Giovanni Wearing followed closely, taking third in the race with a time of 6.90 seconds.

On the distance side, Logan Measner led the charge in the 3000 meters, clocking a winning time of 8:08.60. Fellow sophomore Bryce Stachewicz took second with a time of 8:08.93. J.J. Williams capped off the distance events with a victory in the 800 meters, crossing the line in 1:55.68.

The Badgers also competed in the 4x400 relay, finishing second with a time of 3:31.46, and saw solid performances in the 60-meters hurdles, where Logan Hicks advanced to the finals and placed fifth with a time of 8.55 seconds.

Up Next: A select group of Badgers will compete Saturday in Boston at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener.
