MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Badgers wrestling team is heading to Pennsylvania for a busy weekend of competition.
The team will kick off the action on Saturday, December 7, with a dual against Bucknell, held at 5 p.m. in the Davis Gym in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The following day, Sunday, December 8, the Badgers will take on Bloomsburg at 11 a.m. in the Nelson Field House before wrapping up the trip with a match against Lock Haven at 4 p.m. in the Thomas Field House.
Last Time Out:
In the first home dual of the year, the Badgers fell to Rider, 28-12, with three UW wrestlers earning wins in their respective bouts. The Badgers had a strong start with a pin from
Zan Fugitt and a gritty victory by No. 25
Nicolar Rivera.Â
Gannon Rosenfeld of Wisconsin took care of Collin French at 285 pounds in a 7-0 decision for the final victory for Wisconsin.Â
Scouting the Competition:
Bucknell has an overall 2-2 record for the 2024-25 season. The last dual they wrestled was against No. 8 Minnesota on Nov. 15, where they lost 35-3.Â
Bloomsburg is still searching for their first win of the season, sitting at 0-4 overall. As the third MAC opponent Wisconsin will face this season, Bloomsburg's most recent outing was a tough 48-0 loss to Lock Haven on November 14.
Lock Haven, also a MAC competitor, has only wrestled one dual so far this season, which resulted in their dominant 48-0 victory over Bloomsburg. They'll be looking to maintain that momentum against the Badgers.
