Sprints and distance set to compete Saturday in Notre Dame at 10:00 a.m.

Dubuque, Iowa — The UW track & field team saw throwers compete at the Solomon Butler Classic on Friday.

Jason Swarens continued his impressive season, winning the weight throw with a toss of 67 feet, 6 inches (20.56m). Cole Hooper finished third with a throw of 66-2 (20.17m). Jacob Bugella and Nick Tomasovic also recorded top 10 finishes, Bugella placing fourth with a mark of 65-7 (19.99m) and Tomasovic seventh with a throw of 58-0 (17.67m).

The Badgers also swept the podium in the shot put as Andrew Stone set a season best in the event win with a mark of 64-10 (19.76m). Swarens continued his momentum, placing second with a heave of 64-7 1/4 (19.69m). Finally, Kyle Clabough finished third after a throw of 56-5 1/2 (17.21m).

Up Next: Sprints and distance compete at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday at Notre Dame. Events start at 11:00 a.m. with the 4000-meter distance medley relay.
