Sophomore picks up second weekly honors of the season
MADISON, Wis. – Following an exciting sweep of No. 10 St. Cloud State this past weekend, Wisconsin women's hockey sophomore Caroline Harvey was honored as the WCHA Defender of the Week, the league announced Monday.
It marks the second time that Harvey, a Salem, New Hampshire, native, has received the honor this season and it's the sixth time that the defender has earned WCHA weekly honors in her two seasons as a Badger.
Harvey posted three points in the sweep over the Huskies, including a thrilling game-winning goal in overtime in the series opener on Saturday afternoon The defender also found the back of the net in Sunday's 5-2 victory, giving the Badgers the lead after capitalizing on the power play. Her two goals tied for the lead among league defenders.Â
The second-ranked Badgers hit the road for the final time in the regular season to face Bemidji State. Puck drop for Friday's opener at the Sanford Center is set for 6 p.m., while Saturday's finale will begin at 3 p.m. Both games can be seen online through Big Ten Plus and can be heard in the Madison area on The Game 1070 AM or through the iHeart app.Â
