Official Badger men's hockey pregame will take place at Providence G Pub beginning Friday at 3 p.m.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Wisconsin men's hockey fans and the City of Providence go back a long way.
It was 1978 when representatives from the Providence Chamber of Commerce visited Madison, Wisconsin, after the Badgers played at the Frozen Four in the city to award Badger fans a trophy inscribed with "To the world's greatest fans – presented to the University of Wisconsin hockey fans."
UW hockey made return trips in 1982 and 1992.
Badger men's hockey returns this year for the first time in 32 years to take on Quinnipiac on Friday at 4:30 p.m. CT (5:30 p.m. ET) in Amica Mutual Pavilion.
Join the "world's greatest fans" before the game on Friday from 3-5:15 p.m. ET at Providence G Pub (61 Orange St, Providence, RI 02903).
Bucky Badger will be in attendance and there will be t-shirts, pom poms, beanies, pins and more handed out to those attending.
