MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin women's hockey head coach Mark Johnson announced Thursday that goaltender Quinn Kuntz and forward McKayla Zlisch will join the Badgers this fall. 

Kuntz arrives at Wisconsin after spending the last five years at Ohio State, while Zilisch comes to Madison after spending the last two seasons at Bemidji State. 

A two-time NCAA champion, Kuntz played in 10 games during her time at Ohio State, earning a record of 5-0-0 and three shutouts. The netminder posted a save percentage of .965 and enjoyed a 0.52 goals-against-average. She also earned WCHA Goaltender of the Week honors on Jan. 2, 2023, following a sweep over Lindenwood as she stopped 25 shots throughout the two games, only allowing one goal in the series. 

She also excelled in the classroom as Kuntz was named a four-time WCHA All-Academic selection and a four-time WCHA Scholar-Athlete honoree. 

A native of Warroad, Minnesota, Kuntz played prep hockey with UW senior Katie Kotlowski at Warroad High School. 

Zilisch, a native of Appleton, suited up in 58 games for Bemidji State, recording five points during her career. She excelled in the classroom, earning WCHA Scholar-Athlete honors, ACHA/Krampade All-American Scholar accolades, and a spot on the WCHA All-Academic team. 

Before her collegiate career, Zilisch was a Wisconsin high school hockey standout. She helped lead the Appleton-Xaiver Co-Op to back-to-back State Championships in 2019 and 2020, while also being named to the Wisconsin All-State First Team in 2020-21 and 2021-22. The forward was also a two-time Jinelle Siergiej Award winner which is presented to the state's top forward each year.
