
Wisconsin Athletics participates in the Big Life Series: Selma to Montgomery

Four student-athletes will be part of a transformational opportunity
MADISON, Wis. – Wisconsin Athletics is proud to participate in the Big Ten's third consecutive "Big Life Series: Selma to Montgomery." This year, Wisconsin student-athletes Carter McCray (Women's Basketball), Vinny Anthony II (Football), Austin Brown (Football), and Shelby Jacobson (Softball), along with Athletic Director Chris McIntosh, Associate Athletic Director of Leadership and Inclusion Dr. Danielle Pulliam, and Director of Football Services Monique Felix, will partake in this transformative educational experience from July 12th – 14th.
The journey will commence with a keynote address from Ms. Sheyann Webb-Christburg, a participant in the historic first Selma-to-Montgomery march on March 7th, 1965, known as "Bloody Sunday." The following morning, attendees will engage in community service activities before visiting Selma's historic First Baptist Church. The event will culminate with a march from First Baptist Church across the iconic Edmund Pettus Bridge.
Later in the day, participants will visit the Alabama Archives Museum, the Civil Rights Memorial Center, and the Equal Justice Initiative Museum. "The Big Life Series: Selma to Montgomery" offers a unique opportunity to engage with history, partake in meaningful conversations, and build lasting connections.
