Badgers earn second straight 4-0 victory, now 2-0-0
August 25, 2024 | Men's Soccer
Fleming, Quintos, and Boltz each score against Drexel
How It Happened:
Wisconsin found themselves on the attack to start the game, but didn't find the back of the net until 15 minutes into the match. Taking a corner, Trip Fleming found fellow sophomore Ryan Quintos at the far post, who headed in the ball to give the Badgers the early lead.
Wisconsin managed to get more good looks throughout the first half, but the score remained at 1-0 at minute 45.

It didn't take long in the second half though before Wisconsin added to their score. On a great passing sequence, Fleming found a streaking Markie Hrvojevic, who passed it to Noah Glorioso, who one touched it back to Fleming for another Wisconsin goal, putting the Badgers up 2-0.

Wisconsin did score again 14 minutes later, but this time off a gift from Drexel. After some miscommunication between a Drexel defender and keeper, the Dragons accidentally put the ball in the back of their own net.
That wasn't the last goal for the Badgers though. In minute 73, new team members Roberto Burlew and Dean Boltz found themselves in a 2-on-1 situation. Burlew passed the ball to Boltz who finished off the sequence with a goal, his fourth in two games.

The Badgers were content with running out the clock from there, finishing the game 4-0.
Wisconsin outshot Drexel with balls on net, 7-1, thanks in part to numerous blocks.

Key Notes:
- Sophomores Trip Fleming and Ryan Quintos each scored their first collegiate goals, with Fleming also picking up an assist in the game. Both players were members of the All-Big Ten Freshman Team last season.
- After collecting three goals and one assist in his first game last Thursday, Dean Boltz added another goal to put his single-season total to four goals and one assist. Boltz already has more goals and points (nine) on the season than any Badger last season.
- Wisconsin held Drexel to just one shot on goal during the game, the same number of shots they allowed to Marist in the Badger's first game of the season. Goalkeeper Matisse Hebert starts off his season with back-to-back shutouts, the first Badger keeper to accomplish this feat since Nate Crockford last season.
