Men's golf team competes at its annual home event
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin men's golf hosts the 2024 Badger Invitational at the University Ridge Golf Course, running Sunday through Tuesday.
The three-day tournament is a FREE event, providing golf fans with a great opportunity to watch some of the nation's top collegiate golfers while enjoying the great fall weather.
THE TOURNAMENT:Â
The Badger Invitational is slated to begin Sunday, Sept. 29 and run through Tuesday, Oct. 1, with 18 holes being played on each day. Tee times on Sunday and Monday will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT off Holes 1 and 10. Tuesday will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT with a shotgun start.
THE FIELD:Â
Teams competing along with Wisconsin include Ball State, Green Bay, Illinois State, Long Beach State, Memphis, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, South Dakota State, Southern Illinois, Southern Miss, VCU, Washington State, Western Kentucky, and Winthrop
Wisconsin's lineup is made up of (1) Jacob Beckman, (2) William Harned, (3) Jason Shwartz, (4) Charles Erlandson and (5) Spencer Turtz. Competing individually is Graham Moody, Evan Myers, McCord Grice, and James Boustead.
Tee times for Friday's opening round: Turtz (9:30 a.m.), Erlandson (9:40 a.m.), Shwartz (9:50 a.m.), Harned (10:00 a.m.), Beckman (10:10 a.m.), all off of the 1st tee.
THE COURSE:Â
Home of the Badgers, University Ridge is a par-72 and will be playing at 7,286 yards for the Invitational. The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and opened in 1991. The course, also known as "URidge", is consistently looked at as one of the top college golf courses in the country. Most recently, University Ridge was named the No. 9 best college golf course by Golf Digest.

Wisconsin finished the 2024 Purdue Fall Invitational in eighth place at 15-over par. The Badgers shot a 879 (288-296-295). Jacob Beckman led the Badgers, finishing in a tie for second place overall after shooting a career best 5-under par (75-67-69=211).
