MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin wrestling team (4-7, 0-3 B1G) hosts a Friday night showdown against No. 7 Minnesota (5-1, 1-1 B1G) on Jan. 24, at 7 p.m. in the UW Field House. The dual can be streamed live on B1G+.

The Badgers have had a difficult start to the B1G Ten conference season as they are 0-3 overall.Â
The dual will take place just five days after the teams' weekend on the East Coast to visit Maryland and Rutgers. They fell to both teams, Maryland 24-13 and Rutgers 31-7.
Wisconsin enters the matchup with three ranked competitors:
- Nicolar Rivera (125 lbs): No. 17Â (College Wrestling Report), No. 18 (InterMat), No. 21Â (FloWrestling)
- Zan Fugitt (133 lbs): No. 20Â (College Wrestling Report), No. 24 (InterMat), No. 30Â (FloWrestling)

Scouting Minnesota:
Minnesota holds a 5-1 record (1-1 conference) so far this season. Their first B1G Ten match was a loss against No. 6 Nebraska 21-13 on Jan. 11. The team's most recent match was on Jan. 19 against #21 Michigan. They beat the Wolverines in a convincing 25-10 victory.Â
The Badgers and the Gophers both matched up against Bucknell earlier this season. Minnesota posted a 35-3 victory, while Wisconsin won 23-15.Â
