MEDINAH, Ill. -- The Wisconsin women's golf team finished 12th at the Illini Invitational Monday, shooting +5 through three rounds on Monday and Tuesday at the Medinah Country Club in Illinois. The Badgers led the field in eagles with three after going -11 on Par 5s overall.
Redshirt junior
Tammy Wu led UW for the second consecutive tournament, finishing 28th at -2. The Taiwan native's event was highlighted by a second-round 70 (-2), using an eagle on Hole 16 to go under the card.
Senior
Alexia Siehl put together a consistent week, finishing even on the card and in 37th. Her opening-round 71 (-1) was fueled by two birdies on the back-nine, before shooting +1 in Round 2 and even on the final day.
Junior
Kate Brody was the other Badger to put up a 3 on the 16th yesterday, doing so in Round 1 for a -1, 71 - She finished +2 on the week and in 44th.
Sophomores
Lauren Sammon and
Izzi Stricker split scoring between the two rounds, and tied on the final day to contribute an even share. They both finished 68th at +8, with Stricker getting on the board in Round 1 at +2, while Sammon rose 11 spots in the second-round after notching a 71. They both shot +4 on Tuesday to round out the week.
