Wisconsin caps off day one at Texas Invitational

Badgers notch three NCAA qualifying marks
AUSTIN, Texas — The No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers women's swimming team picked up three NCAA qualifying marks and three top-10 finishes in the opening day of competition at the Texas Invitational.
In the 1650 free, junior Maddie Waggoner and senior Blair Stoneburg picked up NCAA qualifying times. Waggoner led the Badger pack for a fourth place finish in the event, touching the wall with a time of 16:10.08. Stoneburg followed shortly behind in fifth with a time of 16:18.06.
The Wisconsin A relay team also collected an NCAA "A" cut, touching the wall in 1:35.53 for a third-place finish. The time ranks second all-time at UW. Sophomore Maggie Wanezek led off in 23.41, her fastest thus far.
Up Next
The Badgers will continue competition tomorrow at both the Texas and Ohio State Invites. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. in Texas, with finals at 6 p.m. In Columbus, prelims begin at 9:30 a.m. and finals kick off at 5:30 p.m.
